When I first started playing poker, I was so bad at knowing when to play poker hands and when to fold. I remember being in a cash game, sitting on a low pocket pair, and thinking I could bluff my way through it. The flop comes down, and there's an ace and a king on the board. Instead of just folding, I threw in more chips, hoping they'd think I had a strong hand. Of course, they didn't, and one guy was sitting on a straight. I still cringe when I think about it. Learning poker fast is great, but patience is key.
